Storing long, synthetic wigs!
(Wig pictured found here)
Everyone knows that a long wig can take up a lot of room. On top of that, most long wigs, no matter how expensive and great the quality, will find a way to tangle if they aren’t properly cared for. Thankfully, keeping them from tangling is an easy task.
All you really need is a hair tie, although I’d recommend giving the wig a quick brush as well with a wig brush before you store it. All you need do it loosely braid down the length of the wig and tie it off. If it’s too curly to easily braid, trying putting hair ties at regular intervals throughout the length instead of braiding.
After doing that, pack a little tissue paper inside the cap to help it keep its shape and slip the wig net it came with back over it. Store your wig in a roomy ziplock bag until you’re ready to wear it again.
For storing shorter wigs, skip to the tissue paper step and go from there.
If you have trouble keeping the wig on the head while you braid it, you can pin it in place with a few sewing needles. That, or put it on and do a side-braid.
